1 July 1991 EVA AIR´s first flight with a Boeing 767-300ER from Taipei to Bangkok
11 November 1991 EVA AIR´s first flight from Taipei via Bangkok to Vienna; Vienna is the first European destination and the first long-haul route in the EVA AIR network
12 November 1991 EVA AIR lands for the first time at Vienna International Airport
The first EVA AIR office in Vienna was at the Marriott Hotel.
1992 EVA AIR is one of the very first airlines and a pioneer in the aviation industry to introduce a premium economy class, the “Evergreen Deluxe Class”.
EVA AIR establishes its own training centre for the training of flying personnel, including flight simulators.
1998 Introduction of the MD11 aircraft
2000 Start of EVA AIR cargo flights; relocation of the city office from the Marriott to the Hilton Hilton and
2002 to Marc-Aurel-Straße in 1010 Vienna
2003 New uniforms and new aircraft Airbus A330-200
2004 Deployment of the Airbus A330-200 also on the Vienna route
2005 First EVA AIR B777-300ER in service and renaming of the “Evergreen Deluxe Class” to “Elite Class”
2005/2006 The first generation of Hello Kitty jets is introduced
2006 EVA AIR converts a Boeing747 into a Large Cargo Freighter (LCF) to transport oversized parts of the future Boeing787 “Dreamliner”
2008 EVA AIR transports valuable art objects from the National Palace Museum, Taipei to Vienna for an exhibition at the Kunsthistorisches Museum (Art History Museum)

2011 The second generation of Hello Kitty jets is introduced – there are now six aircraft in total in the eye-catching design (5 Airbus A330-200 and 1 Boeing 777-300)
2012 Introduction of the exclusive “Royal Laurel Class” on the “Triple Seven” aircraft
18 June 2013 EVA AIR becomes a Star Alliance member
September 2013 Increase in flight frequency on the route Taipei – Bangkok – Vienna and v.v. from three to four weekly flights.
November 2015 EVA AIR orders 24 Boeing787 “Dreamliner” aircraft
January 2016 Relocation of the city office from Marc-Aurel-Straße to Vienna Airport
June 2016 EVA AIR receives the coveted 5-star award from SKYTRAX
From 3 October 2016, a Boeing 777-300ER operates the Taipei – Bangkok – Vienna route
August 2017 New uniforms and farewell to Boeing747 passenger aircraft
November 2017 First Boeing777 freighter joins EVA AIR fleet
January 2018 The “Elite Class” is renamed “Premium Economy Class”
9/10 March 2018 EVA AIR launches direct flights between Taipei and Vienna; thus, daily service between TPE and VIE: 3x weekly direct, 4x weekly via BKK
1 September 2018 Evergreen Group – mother company of EVA AIR – celebrates its 50th birthday
October 2018 EVA AIR takes delivery of its first Boeing787-9 “Dreamliner”
1 April 2019 EVA AIR welcomes its two millionth passenger at Vienna Airport
9 May 2019 new aircraft on Vienna route: Boeing787-9 Dreamliner
19 June 2019 EVA AIR takes delivery of the first Boeing787-10 Dreamliner
16 February 2020 new aircraft on the route Taipei – Bangkok – Vienna and v.v.: Boeing787-10 Dreamliner (on the direct flight between TPE and VIE the 787-9 remains)
